Addressing Climate Change Will Not “Save the Planet”

"The dismal reality is that green energy will save not the complex web of life on Earth but the particular way of life of one domineering species"

About this blog

This blog does not pretend to be even handed. It has an often dark and depressing theme -- Capitalism run amok is at the root of most of the world's seemingly intractable problems. I recognize human behavior and our capacity to do bad things as individuals and as a species. I am not an apologist or a bleeding heart but rather postulate that history and our understanding of it is driven by the powerful. Prejudices are manipulated, flames of hatred fanned and the masses enlisted in the service of the capitalist lords and masters. The history of our species is one of conquest, control and consolidation of wealth at any cost, including the entire planet. (I also have hope and love and you may find those stories here.)

Sound a bit like a crusade? It is this blog's singular purpose to create a record of events and commentary as they happen in the stream of news and ideas. Smashing holes in the dominant paradigm is necessary -- a service to critical thought in a "newspeak" world. Readers will not find strategy for a new world or a general theory of history, Marxist or otherwise. We all live under a barrage of "free market" propaganda and viewed from inside this asylum, understanding news and current events in historical context always requires deep decoding. Otherwise you are just being played. Trust nothing you read, see on the nightly news or in social media.

About Me

My photo
Wayne Morgenthaler
Oasis is a hybrid/permaculture food forest on several acres that will include comprehensive water recycling , serene water features & meditative space, pasture raised chickens, no till vegetable bed, fruit trees. Future construction of a large barn/hall to house over a hundred people for community events and educational programs is planned for September. Our singular purpose is to build community around the farm's abundance that will not be monetized but rather be an informal economy based on the currency of sharing, beauty and serenity. Peace.
